Student Success Skills (SSS) is a PreK-10 intervention designed to help students develop key cognitive, social, and self-management skills. The program helps students develop learning, social, and self-management skills associated with academic success.
Some of the targeted skills include:
Cognitive and Metacognitive Skills (goal setting, progress monitoring, and memory-enhancing skills)
Self-Management Skills (managing attention, motivation, anxiety, and anger)
Social Skills (communication, social problem-solving, and listening skills)
Attitudes (building healthy optimism and self-efficacy)
Creating a Caring and Supportive Class Environment
SSS has over 20 outcome research studies that indicate its efficacy. According to the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), a randomized control trial (RCT) with students in grades 7, 9, and 10 found improved academic performance and social-emotional skills/attitudes.
