Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) is a set of lessons for PreK-6 to help students learn skills such as self-control, emotional understanding, positive self-esteem, relationship building, and interpersonal problem-solving skills. The curriculum includes 40-52 lessons per grade level, designed to be taught twice weekly for 20-30 min. It also includes additional materials for the class, school, and families.

According to the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), four randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with grades K-5 found improved academic performance, increased positive social behavior, reduced conduct problems, and reduced emotional distress.
